Software Solutions

Have a software need, but not sure where to go? We are familar with hundreds, maybe thousands of products... many of which are free. Don't let someone convince you to pay them to develop a custom solution, when the product has existed in the Open Source community for years!

One thing we have discovered is that many companies which sell software like to push expensive solutions because it benefits them for their customers to spend big. You may have heard of Customer Relations Management (CRM) software such as ACT!, groupware products like Exchange, databases like SQL Server and Oracle, which all work reasonably well. But they cost a fortune! There are cheaper, sometimes free, alternatives to these which do a similar if not better job! There is even a quite good free alternative to Microsoft Office, something you may otherwise spend hundreds of dollars on.

The above are just a few examples, there are numerous others. We can discuss your software needs, and we provide the available alternatives, and any benefits and drawbacks there are. There may very well be times when the more expensive product is warranted, and we aren't opposed to comercial software. But there may be even more times when it is not! We are opposed to spending money when one doesn't have to :-)
